NAMT is a national service organization dedicated exclusively to musical theatre. Our members include producers, presenters, developers and academic institutions, who all believe in our mission to advance musical theatre by nurturing the creation, development, production, presentation and recognition of new and classic musicals. NAMT offers unique opportunities to...
- network with your peers in intimate settings through our conferences, summits, roundtables and the Festival of New Musicals
- fund new work at all stages of development through the National Fund for New Musicals
- generate revenue through the Set and Costume Registry for rentals and sales
- be a part of a national conversation on the state and future of this uniquely American art form.
Now more than ever, theatres need the support systems NAMT can provide.

Membership Information
Criteria
Membership in the National Alliance for Musical Theatre is open to
organizations that have been incorporated for a minimum of two years and that
are involved in the production or presentation of musical theatre. All members
must have a track record of producing professional musical theatre for two
years and must compensate their actors. Affiliate membership is available to
developmental organizations whose primary mission is to develop new musicals, and to accredited colleges, universities and higher education programs.
In addition, all organizations outside of North America are in the Affiliate category.
Dues
Membership dues are based on musical theatre box office income for most members (with flat rates for independent producers, tour presenters and bookers, and Affiliate members), and range from $500 to $6,500 annually. We strongly recommend that you contact the NAMT office
prior to completing your application in order to understand the dues structure
and your potential annual dues. Please contact the Membership Director at (212) 714-6668 x15 or adam@namt.org for more information.
Application Process
After contacting NAMT to discuss their interest, organizations should apply for membership by submitting an online Membership Application. In addition, a copy of the organization’s mission, and other materials (reviews, brochures, etc.) that provide background information on the organization and its activities, may be mailed to NAMT if you wish. Applications are reviewed several times each year and are voted into membership by the Board of Directors, upon recommendation of the Membership Committee.
Please e-mail Membership Director Adam Grosswirth or call (212) 714-6668 x15 to find out how to discuss your organization and membership. When you are ready to apply, click the button below to fill out the online form.
